Assoc. Prof. Gül Kurtuluş

Gül Kurtuluş has been teaching drama courses since the beginning of her academic career with an increasing interest in early modern and modern drama. She retired from English Language and Literature Department of Bilkent University in January 2024. Her research interests include drama in the Shakespearean world and London theatrical life in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She is also interested in short fiction in Anglophone literatures. Stereoscopic London: Plays of Oscar Wilde, Bernard Shaw and Arthur Wing Pinero in the 1890s is her first monograph published in 2020 by Peter Lang. Her second monograph, Convention and Contravention in Ben Jonson’s Three Comedies: Volpone, The Alchemist, Bartholomew Fair was published in 2021 by Peter Lang. Shakespeare’s Unmuted Women is her latest book published in 2024 by Routledge. She is working on her fourth book project at the moment.
